BPT signs collaboration agreement with Subsea 7

A pioneering design for a Floating Normally Unattended Installation (NUI) that has the potential to unlock smaller and deepwater oil and gas reservoirs is one step closer to commercialisation following the announcement of a collaboration agreement between Buoyant Production Technologies Ltd. (BPT), the engineering consultancy behind the design, and Subsea 7.

The agreement will see both BPT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crondall Energy Ltd, and Subsea 7 jointly promote, through early client engagement, compact NUIs for use in offshore energy developments in the oil and gas sectors globally. The technology provides a cost-effective and sustainable solution to producing stranded or uneconomic oil and gas reserves. The units can also be used as offshore substations in the renewables sector.
